Experience Waldorf is a wonderful opportunity to see Marin Waldorf School in action, connect with our warm and close-knit community of parents, and see how our dynamic and multidisciplinary curriculum integrates academics, arts, world languages, outdoor education, and healthy movement.
Sign up to spend the morning in a classroom with your child, then join us for family games, pizza making in the garden, live music, and delicious food. The day will conclude with our always fascinating Alumni Panel. Please note that space is limited, registration is encouraged!

Preschool mini day and Kindergarten mini day - 10am - 11:30am (Parents and preschool / kindergarten-age children)
In the MWS kindergarten program, children learn through exploration, observation, art, and play. Spend a morning in the kindergarten to see how our experienced faculty lead their classes in movement, activities, and free play.
Workshops - 10am - 11am
Painting and Waldorf Theory with Sarah Whitmore (Parents only)
New this year! Grades director Sarah Whitmore will offer a guided watercolor & Waldorf theory workshop for parents. As we learn the meditative watercolor technique used in Waldorf classrooms, Sarah will discuss Waldorf pedagogy and how the creative arts are incorporated into the rigorous academic curriculum at Marin Waldorf School.
Make-a-Gnome with Mia Terziev (Parents and Kindergarten children)
Feel the magic of the Waldorf early grade school program while crafting your own little gnome with 2nd grade teacher Mia Terziev. Parents of current Kindergarten and early childhood students are encouraged to attend with their children. Learn about the thoughtful and intentional early grades curriculum at Marin Waldorf School while spending precious time crafting with your child.
Woodwork with Adam Neale (Parents and grades-age children)
Experience the joy of working with your hands in our school's beautiful woodshop. Led by our beloved woodworking teacher Adam Neale, you'll spend the morning working on a simple project with hand tools. This workshop is designed for families with children in grades 4-7, and is appropriate for woodworkers of all levels.
World Languages (Parents and children)
Learn new words in Mandarin and Spanish and make traditional foods from world cultures in this hands-on workshop with teachers Sally Li and Loreto Jabre. This workshop is designed for families with children in grades K-6.
Activities
Family Movement class - 11am - 11:30am
Go play in the oak grove in this spirited family games class led by master teacher Donni O'Ryan. This workshop is open to children in grades K-7 and their parents.
Musical Interlude & Coffee Break - 11:30am - 12pm
Music is an essential part of Waldorf education and no event at our school is complete without it! For this year's Experience Waldorf, we are delighted to welcome cellist Michael Fecskes, a former Waldorf student and teacher at Live Oak Charter School in Petaluma. Read a lovely story about Michael and his cello here.
While we enjoy Michael's music, we'll have coffee, tea, and delicious treats to share, plus the opportunity to visit classrooms and connect with faculty and other families at our school.
Alumni Panel - 12pm - 1pm
Listening to the reflections of a diverse group of graduates reminds us why Waldorf education is unique, and how it builds a foundation of creativity, independent thinking, and confidence that lasts a lifetime.
