baby & me
Introducing Baby & Me classes at Marin Waldorf School, a gentle and welcoming community for new parents and their infants.
Find your village of support and enjoy the early months of parenthood. Our expertly guided baby and me program is built around the idea that effective, empathetic parenting stems from a well-nurtured caregiver, and from developing deep, meaningful connections within families.
Each session will blend practical learning to observe and understand your baby, seasonal songs and games to play and build connection, and mindfulness techniques to help parents and caregivers to reconnect with their inner selves and replenish their emotional reserves. Intended for new (and experienced) parents with children 0-12 months.
About the Class
Explore themes related to the growth, development, and parenting of the infant with mother and Waldorf teacher Rhian Dale!
Babies lie on a soft blanket where they watch what interests them or move around to reach the objects in the room. Special attention is given to supporting the natural unfolding of children’s interests, movement abilities, social interactions, and problem-solving skills. A nurturing atmosphere welcomes and surrounds adults and babies alike.
We will learn seasonal songs, lullabies, and games to play with babies. Parents also develop their ability to quietly observe and interpret babies’ movements, gestures, and vocalizations. Through quiet observation, parents deepen their own intuitive knowledge and discover new ways of being with their children.
Weekly readings are explored in a spirit of mutual learning, and classes based on Waldorf, early childhood education, also include opportunities for informative conversation.
Baby & Me classes will meet on Tuesday mornings, from 11:00am to 12:15pm. The session is 8 weeks, from January 21 to March 18 (there is no class on Tuesday, February 18). $325 for the session.
